A world free of high-risk roads
Case Studies of Success
Many governments and private road operators have now implemented road upgrades as part of their RAP projects and programmes. Many schools have been upgraded as part of the Star Rating for Schools partnerships. New roads are being designed to the 3-star or better Global Standard using the Star Rating for Designs tool. Policies are in place, optimised investment is being mobilised and lives are being saved. Over US$70 billion of road investment is already being made safer. The following case studies show that saving lives on 3-star or better roads is truly possible as we scale up action worldwide.

Helping create a world free of high-risk roads.
Celebrating success is an important element of every iRAP programme. We encourage every country to ribbon-cut and celebrate each new or upgraded 3-star or better road. A 5-star journey for pedestrians to the metro station; a 4-star motorway or simple upgrades to achieve 3-star or better performance on a rural road. The iRAP Case Study Series showcases RAP partnerships and activities that are saving lives and preventing serious injuries around the world every day.
